01 about

My journey with clay began 30 years ago in Hong Kong, where I first explored hand-building and coiling vessels as a creative counterbalance to my career in academia. When I retired in 2021 and moved to Dunsborough, Western Australia, I was fortunate to learn the art of wheel-throwing under the guidance of a local master potter.

Today, I create stoneware pottery in my sunlit studio by the coast, shaping pieces that are both beautiful and functional—designed to bring warmth and quiet joy to everyday moments. I love making pottery that invites touch: the way a mug fits perfectly in your palm, the gentle swell of a vase’s belly, or the soft curve of a bowl. Each piece reflects the rhythm of my hands at the wheel and the natural movement of the clay.

I welcome you to visit my studio, to feel the weight and texture of a piece in your hands before making it your own. Here, in the light of day, you’ll see my glaze palette—hues drawn from the pinks and peaches of sunrise, the deep blues of the ocean, the golden warmth of the sun, and the rich earth beneath my feet.

I hope my pottery becomes part of your daily rituals, adding beauty and mindfulness to the simple moments of life.
